Calvo, with extensive export experience in 70 countries, had been selling in China for 8 years. A member of the export team, fluent in Chinese, lived in the country to develop the brand and sales. Members of the export team supported him with regular trips to China to strengthen the agreements.

Despite the efforts and their professionalism, the lack of local tradition in the consumption of canned fish and the fierce price competition of Southeast Asia producers, prevented Calvo from expanding out of one of China’s areas.

The first collaboration agreement with Tradeco was to expand sales outside that area. After the promising results obtained in the first months, it was agreed to also attend this initial area, with a sales increase commitment. Currently, we continue opening new areas and distribution channels, increasing sales in established areas and developing the brand image.
