Our Chinese customers are not just customers who import and sell the products of the companies we work with. They are also collaborators who support their suppliers and their workers when they need it.

One of the importers of several of the companies we work with, upon learning of the lack of face masks from their Spanish suppliers, has donated and sent them boxes of face masks.

During the first period of the Covid-19 crisis, the enormous difficulty in obtaining means of protection against the virus was widespread. Food factory workers, an essential sector, had to continue going to the factories, at risk of contagion. Also the workers of the companies that export to China.

This reached the ears of one of our importers. Not one of the great ones. A medium importer from an area away from the main circuits. It imports from several of the Spanish and Portuguese companies with which we work. He already knew about the risk of working without masks and had provided all of his workers with them. Determined to help its European partners, he purchased and shipped free boxes of face masks to its suppliers. Also to Tradeco teams.

In the images appear boxes of masks for Spain and Portugal, with the Chinese texts “Go Spain!” and “Go Portugal!”.

We greatly appreciate this importer, on behalf of our client companies and on our own behalf, for the solidarity shown in this difficult period.

Importers are not just customers, they are people. We all know it, even if it is sometimes forgotten. Cultivating these relationships is important. Out of respect, first of all. It is imperative, too, to maintain smooth long-term business relationships. When difficulties arise, both in business development and on occasions like this, collaboration beyond what is established in contracts makes the difference.

A lesson in humanity.
